Heating air conditioners today
Today, more and more often, in winter, air conditioners are used to heat the room. But in some cases, cooling is also required all year round, for example, server rooms or various laboratories.
Therefore, for these two different tasks, different low-temperature sets are required.
It is also worth noting that the air conditioner in heating mode is much more economical in terms of electricity consumption than a heater. An electric heater produces as much heat as it consumes, for example, 2 kW of heat = 2 kW of electricity consumed. While a split system produces much more heat than it consumes energy, and the difference can be about 200%.
But what to do when an already installed air conditioner does not have the technical ability to operate at high sub-zero temperatures, and there is a need for this?
For such cases, a set of special devices was developed, the so-called "winter set" of the air conditioner. This equipment allows the split system to increase the operating temperature range in winter.

- Heating of the crankcase of the compressor of the outdoor unit of the air conditioner (maintains the temperature inside the compressor at a level at which freon can change from liquid to gas, and also ensures a soft start of the compressor);
- Heated drainage of the outdoor unit (prevents freezing of the pan and fan in the outdoor unit);
- Thermostat (turns on and off the winter low-temperature kit at times of need).
- Fan speed controller (used to smoothly stop the fan at low outside temperatures, thus preventing freezing and increasing the performance of the air conditioner).
